The advantage of a methodology is that it guides you through the project lifecycle in depth, so that you can recognize which tasks need to be performed, when they need to be performed and how they need to be performed. PRINCE2Projects IN Controlled Environments, more commonly known as PRINCE2, is a methodology for effective project management which is in fact widely used by the UK Government. Prince2 is widely recognised, in the UK and internationally, for use in the private sector. This methodology involves eight processes that are critical to ensuring PRINCE2 is delivered to a project. One PRINCE2 process is planning, which is not widely recognized as an official process, but due to the amount of planning needed to cover the other processes, it is vital. When taking the specialized training exams needed to be able to apply PRINCE2, there are two levels of certification for that… middle of the paper… or organization level. Conclusion The use of PRINCE2 in construction projects does not appear to be very common and brings enormous benefits to each project to which they are applied. Although most projects using this methodology are large-scale projects, it appears to be the best methodology to use in the industry. The processes involved are very clear and precise, so a construction project using this methodology will present minimal risks. Assuming that you need to undertake specialist training to use PRINCE2, the advantages still far outweigh the disadvantages. Once you train someone within the project team in this area, it will be easy to train more staff members, saving time and effort. Overall, PRINCE2 is seen as a huge success and should be the number one choice when it comes to project management, whether it is a construction project or not.
