Pre-school education, according to Magnuson, Meyers, Ruhm and Waldfogel (2004), refers to an educational program provided by nurseries and early childhood centers , offered during the early years of childhood between the ages of 2 and 6, ending with entry into primary school. Most parents in society may think that early childhood education program can improve students' academic performance, such as reading and writing skills, while others may oppose it believing that early education program can discourage children's mental development in different areas such as cognitive development. , emotional and behavioral controls (Barnett, 2008). Despite improvements in language proficiency, mental development may be more important than academic achievement because psychological growth can affect students' entire lives. A student may be harmed by disadvantages such as weakening of cognitive development such as creativity and imagination in receiving an early education plan. This essay aims to investigate the disadvantages of the preschool education system by analyzing preschool education and moving on to mention the advantages and disadvantages such as literary skills and mental maturity respectively. This essay will end with a short conclusion that preschool education can bring negative consequences for early learners. The most important reason why parents force their children to receive early education may be to improve academic achievement in children's later studies, especially in reading and writing skills (Heckman, 2011). Barnett (2001) states that the pre-school curriculum is highly associated with reading and writing skills, which improves language proficiency for the future... half of the paper...
