Compared to the 10 Commandments, which are concise and simple, Sharia Law is quite extensive and deals with personal issues such as hygiene, diet, dress code and sexual matters, while the 10 Commandments mainly deal with ways to avoid sin. Both the 10 Commandments and Sharia Law condemn idolatry, murder, adultery, theft, intentional desire and aspiration for immoral sexuality, and desire for or appropriation of someone's property. The Quran has established multiple punishments for those who do not follow Sharia Law, including beheading/crucifixion (Quran 5:33), flogging (Quran 24:2), and hellfire (Quran 40:70-72). . . This is different from the 10 Commandments as there is no punishment for not following them. Although the 10 Commandments and Sharia Law are two different aspects of the ethical dimension of Catholicism and Islam, through the evaluation of these ethical rules, a series of similarities and differences are noted that connect the two religions
