The human psyche is an important part of every human being. One of the most important topics that affects the human psyche is survival. One of the main focuses of the human psyche and survival is how the human psyche plays an active role in the human need to provide for itself and continue to survive. The human psyche is the totality of the human mind, conscious and unconscious. The three main categories of the human psyche are the Id, the Ego and the Superego. Survival is the drive to stay alive or the fact of staying alive, especially after facing mortal danger. On a controversial level, some humans view survival in different ways. An example of survival would be a person living a normal life in a suburban area. To survive, they went to a shop to buy food and water. There is no serious life-threatening situation or drastic behavior necessary to “survive.” On the other hand, in a life-threatening situation where no civilization can be found, a human has to fight for his food and water by making reckless and courageous decisions. This serious situation can cause a dramatic change in the emotional and psychological aspects of a human being. The age group targeted in this topic is anyone who is a young adult. The adolescent age group is targeted because young adults are very fragile and malleable. They are at a very important and crucial time in their lives where they are starting to develop a sense of freedom and independence while being protected and cared for by their guardians. The human psyche plays a role in human survival through the instinctive aspect of the Id, the reality of the Ego and the consciousness of the Super Ego.
