In 1895 a star was born, a man who loved acting and dancing, but his life soon ended. On May 6, 1895, Rudolph Valentino was born in Castellaneta, Italy (Encyclopedia Rudolph Valentino par.1). Rudolph Valentino was born to a French mother and an Italian father but his father died when Rudolph Valentino was at a young age (Biography par.2). Valentino was spoiled, even kicked out of another school, but eventually earned his diploma as a farmer (Rudolph par. 1). Since Valentino's father died at an early age, Valentino hasn't had much discipline (Walker 11). Rudolph Valentino started out as a dancer, then moved to silent films as an actor to make it the beginning of his acting career; all the women loved him because as he acted in his films, Rudolph Valentino had great success in the 1920s during his silent film career until his sudden death at an early age. (Rudolph Valentino). Rudolph Valentino abandoned the Navy and began begging on the streets of Paris in 1912 (Rudolph par. 2). Then Valentino went to New York and was then arrested for theft and blackmail (Rudolph par.2). Rudolph met his godfather in New York City and he helped Rudolph find a job and also a place to stay (Biography par. 3). Then Valentino found work as a dancer performing in nightclubs and this took him to Hollywood (Rudolph par. 2). Then Valentino went on a dance tour in 1915 and 1916 with Bonnie Glass and Joan Sawyer (Leider 246). At the age of 24 Rudolph Valentino began to love acting (Laurence par. 8). In 1917 Rudolph started as an extra. (Walker 17). “I have very dark skin and the sun burns me too black for photos.” (Leider 162). When he died, people were breaking windows and overturning cars in the chapel where Valentino's body was kept (Four par. 10). Jean Acker canceled the plan he had made to go to Europe just to be close to Valentino in his time of need (Leider 382). Valentino loved California and that is where he became a legend, so much so that it will be his final home (Leider 396). This shows how Rudolph Valentino started out as a dancer, then moved on to acting in silent films, how all of this brought him into the limelight. career, like all the women loved the way he acted in the movements and also like Valentino he had great success in the 1920s until his sudden death at an early age put an end to it all.
