In every decision you make in life there are pros and cons of that decision. If one eats a hamburger after a satisfying workout, the pros are: the hamburger was delicious, the cons: now he has to dispose of the hamburger he so hastily ate. Regardless of the impact of the decisions you make, the pros and cons inevitably influence your choices. Andrew Stanton uses these pros and cons and shows how they affect a person's life in his movie Wall-E. Wall-E focuses on the aspects that technology has on humans living in a disposable society and the world around them. Now more than ever, education has become a substantial means to achieve the status quo, but the use of technology is leading to a diminution of this achievement. The movie Wall-E illustrates the negative relationships humans have with technology in schools, resulting in a lack of proper education and laziness in modern society. The reference to the future of society, as depicted in Wall-E, predicts the world's consumption of technology. Wall-E is a robot whose job is to clean up the vast amount of waste covering the Earth while the human population is on a cruise ship called the Axiom in space. Eve, a robot name short for Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator, arrives on Earth and finds a plant that shows evidence that life is sustainable on Earth. Wall-E becomes infatuated with Eve and follows her to the Axiom, where he is introduced to a race drowning in technology. Wall-e's presence causes disruption on the cruise, but with the help of Eve and a Captain fascinated by the new knowledge of Earth they help prevail over the technology around them and return to Earth. The overall backdrop of this film shows how being consumed by technology has negative effects on… middle of paper… usually malnourished when it comes to proper education. It's absolutely true when people say that those who don't know that history is destined to repeat it. Just like the person who ate the hamburger after a good workout, sometimes it's hard to realize the pros and cons of what you do in life. The myths of technology can fool anyone who is not aware of its pros and cons. Modern society believes these myths and even the excessive use of technology can misinterpret their meaning. Much like Stanton's creation of a disposable society, our society leans toward technology like a drowning person toward a lifeguard. A disposable society is worth nothing and without proper knowledge of its pros and cons can lead this world to destruction. Works CitedWall-E. Director Andrea Stanton. Pixar animation studios.
