America is facing a health crisis! In town hall meetings across America, fights have broken out during speeches made in an attempt to promote government-run healthcare. If you look at the big picture, healthcare is only a small part of today's problems, but it is a very large one, in the eyes of Americans, considering how it affects every citizen. The healthcare system in the United States is going through a tough time, but does this mean that we, as Americans, should just step aside and let the government take over? Absolutely not! The government will claim that the number of uninsured Americans is high because of the prices charged by insurance companies, but are these numbers correct and who makes them up? What will a government-run health service provide in terms of doctors and treatment? Where do we think the money to run public health care will come from? Americans can help turn the economy around by ticking this health crisis off the list of many. Americans should stop the government from passing such a bill for government-run health care and let the government know exactly what we need and how we need to do it. According to the most recent numbers released by the Census Bureau, approximately 47 million Americans are uninsured. But let's take a closer look at these numbers. Of these 47 million, approximately 7 million are illegal immigrants, 9 million use Medicade, 3.5 million are entitled to health care but do not use available health services and approximately 20 million families have incomes above the poverty level (41,300 dollars for a family of four) and can afford regular health services with greater coverage. The government tries to add all these factors together to make the numbers higher, in an attempt to gai... middle of paper... the government says it won't increase the deficit. It's time for all Americans to stand up and get out of the childish phase of letting the government do everything for them, and tell those government officials exactly what we need and how we need to do it. So far the government has made a mockery of the American economy. When a communist country looks at the United States of America and wonders what the hell we are doing, it is time for us Americans to do something. It's time for this economy to turn around and for the government to retreat from attempts to overstep its borders, such as the attempts it is making with this healthcare idea. Reducing the government-run health care bill is the first step in moving the economy in the right direction and achieving Americans' goals, so we can get back to living the American dream..
