No one knows better than a doctor about diagnosing and treating diseases because that is their job. But I believe that the doctor's task is also to offer advice and guidance to those who request it regarding illnesses. This is where education comes in, and it's another aspect of being a doctor that appeals to me. A doctor has all this knowledge and ability to collaborate with those who research the causes and effects of diseases and develop treatments that doctors will ultimately use. Not only that, but doctors are natural public health advocates because they see patients every day who are part of the general public like you and me. Ultimately, my perception of what it means to be a doctor has evolved, but a career as a doctor appeals to me more than ever
