Some might respond that a human being is a living, breathing being, made up of cells and organisms that work together to create natural bodily functions. From the Christian perspective, a human being is a person created by God, in the image of God, for the purpose of serving Him. Each person will find their purpose at a point in their life that will bring God's work to completion. I believe the Christian vision is true. What happens to a person upon death? There are many beliefs about what happens to a person upon death. Again, these beliefs come from a cultural and religious upbringing. For someone who does not believe in a higher being, when a person dies the body decays into the earth without regard to an afterlife. Christians believe that when a person dies, they go to Heaven or Hell. Where we go depends on our actions on earth and whether we acknowledge God as our Savior, but never deny Him.
