I will respond to the view of sport as something disgusting and separating people. I think sport doesn't always have to be a bad thing. Sports can act as a unifier between many people around the world who support the same team. My speech will show the other side of the issue.Slide 1:Sport can act as a unifier because when many people support the same team they immediately become friendly even if they don't know each other. Joe Humphrey stated that “sport is essentially anti-family and encourages unethical and discriminatory behavior.” This is the exact opposite of what happens when people come together to support their team. This unites people of all races and religions. When a person supports their team, they do not care if the people around them are different as they focus on the unity of all the people around them who support them. Slide 2: Sports creates friendships between people who would not normally communicate . This is great against racism since when people hold the same ideals, they have something in common. This encourages communication between people and friendships between different people. Joe Humphrey says sports creates "barriers between groups", which I think is wrong as people make friends with all religions due to sports unifying people when they support the same team. SLIDE 3: Sport unites nations. Sports unites nations and creates peace between countries as every country wants to invite other countries to the World Cup. This creates friendships between nations. Countries try to be friendly with other countries to create better and more entertaining sporting events. Nations come together and help each other through sport, especially the World Cup, which is a way for countries to show their support for teams and the unification of people. Slide 4: Sport does not have a language . Sport doesn't need words, it can bring people together thanks to the fact that people who speak different languages understand each other and understand each other with other people who support their favorite team. People who speak different languages do not have to worry about language barriers as there are no misunderstanding problems in sports. The rules are the same, different sporting events are similar, and people feel comfortable everywhere.SLIDE 5:Sports create similarities by bringing people to one place creating a similarity between people in the things they love to do. People find similarities in other people because it gives people a chance to show who they are when they stand for the same things.
