Topic > Importance of Celebrities' Private Lives - 1835

They play dumb for their fans so they can always have their understanding and go against the media for what they are doing. Celebrities know that they are constantly being watched by the media and will do something so stupid to get their attention and also get fans talking about them, always trying to protect them from the media. Roy Greenslade, writer for the Guardian, wrote an article "Surely celebrities have a right to a private life, don't they", Greenslade talks about how if a celebrity wants their privacy protected by the media, they shouldn't go all over the media and trying to get their attention. They shouldn't blame the media for the negative reviews they publish, it's not their fault. Greenslade established that “they had proclaimed their virtue, and were therefore not guilty of hypocrisy” (Greenslade 1). In other words Greenslade is saying that if celebrities really want privacy they shouldn't act guilty for what they've done and just accept the criticism they've made.
