Social media has led many people to depression, because their confidence has been ruined by the thoughts and opinions of others. Sometimes these people translate hurtful thoughts and opinions into real words on their social media page and make the other person question the worth of their being. In other words, this is called cyberbullying. It occurs "when a child, preteen, or adolescent is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed, or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen, or adolescent using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies, or mobile phone" (stopcyberbullying. org). It is one of the most discussed topics around the world. According to an article on cyberbullying, “more than half of adolescents and young adults have been victims of online bullying, and approximately the same number have committed cyberbullying” (Hall).
