The process of creating a film requires many people and a lot of time dedicated to the project, from development to pre-production, production, post-production, marketing and distribution, The stages involved in making a film are more complicated than you might think. The whole process begins in the development phase before the actual shooting, where the backbone of each film project is the screenplay, chosen by those who want to make the film, the producers. It is the cheapest part of making the film as well as being the most important aspect, telling the story (Tomaric 5). They move on to obtaining a legal “chain of ownership” by ensuring that all rights to the story and ideas are theirs, this is very important for obtaining insurance and distribution rights (Fortunato). Once the title chain is secured, the producers meet and discuss finances, elements of the film and all general production. People like the executive producer are responsible for raising the finances for the film, while the producers are personally responsible for all elements of the production (Fortunato). The producer then works with a director early in the process to gain an artistic vision for the film and to interpret and translate the script (Fortunato). Agents and lawyers are hired, contracts are signed giving the green light, and the film must have below-the-line people, above-the-line people, and studio personnel hired to continue making the film. The project has the green light and is ready to continue the process and advance to the pre-production phase where it begins with breaking down the film and evaluating the budget (Tomaric 49). Probably the most important thing, and usually double the length of the production, is pre-production, assembling all the int...... center of the paper ......ef and entering the world they have created . They use visual tricks just like a magician would to please and surprise the audience in order to increase the quality of life, provoke thoughts and provide inspiration. Since it is an increasingly popular medium of both entertainment and art, the director has a lot of responsibility for the messages he sends to the audience subliminally or directly. Art is a necessity in a functioning society and the director has the opportunity to showcase the technological achievement of a film.
