Tagore's philosophy was greatly influenced by Indian scriptures such as the Gita and the Upanishads. However, he was also greatly influenced by classical and modern Western educational thought, he synthesized the ancient Vedantic tradition with the modern scientific attitude in formulating the goal of education. Tagore's education system also emphasizes the intellectual, physical, social, moral, economic and spiritual aspects of human life. Through which a man can develop an integrated personality. The objectives of education are as follows: (1) Self-realization: spiritualism is the essence of humanism; this concept was reflected in Tagore's educational philosophy. Self-realization is an important goal of education. The manifestation of personality depends on self-realization and spiritual knowledge of the individual.(2) Intellectual development: Tagore condemned the traditional education system, in which books and exams are deemed important, in which the child has no incentive to think and to assimilate what he had learned. According to him, education should encourage imagination, creative and free thinking, constant curiosity and alertness of mind rather than mere memory or sorting of information about unrelated facts. The child should be free to adopt his own way of learning which will lead to all-round development. (3) Physical Development: Tagore wanted, through education, to have healthy and physically well-developed children with keen senses. He thought that there was an inseparable link between the physical and mental faculties. The education of the body in the true sense of the word, according to him, does not consist in play and exercise, but in systematically applying the body to perform useful work. That is...middle of paper......vice not only to improve society but also because he will improve himself. Therefore, education should aim at the development of individual personality and social characteristics that enable him to live as a worthy being. Curriculum: In terms of curriculum, Tagore advocated a different emphasis in teaching. Rather than studying national cultures to win wars and cultural dominance, he advocated a system of teaching that analyzed history and culture for progress that could be useful in breaking down social and religious barriers. Such an approach emphasized the innovations that had been made in integrating individuals of diverse backgrounds and in developing economic policies that emphasized social justice and narrowed the gap between rich and poor. The curriculum proposed by Tagore includes not only various subjects but also some activities to undertake.
