True to form, Winslet is stunning in her portrayal of Hoffman - as if that should be a surprise, though her character tends to come across more like a personal assistant than a significant spoke behind the wheel. Regardless, Hoffman serves as the occasionally wacky voice of reason for Jobs, and an exchange of final verses between Fassbender and Winslet illuminates the unique and borderless working (and friendly) relationship between the two. Normally, you would think that both Fassbender and Winslet would do this. it reinforces the show – and to a certain extent Michael Fassbender lays down the law, so to speak. However, Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels step in with precision and ambitious execution. Clearly Daniels is still in The Newsroom form, and looks like he walked straight onto Jobs' set from the now-defunct HBO series, though he's still effective in his efforts.
