He invented the vehicle in 1839. Hybrid vehicles get better fuel economy than most older cars and trucks. Most new vehicles produced today are some sort of hybrid or ecoboost vehicle. Almost all automakers today are trying to create new vehicles that save gas, which is green for the environment. Fuel-efficient cars are now taking the place of diesel cars and trucks. Most owners of a diesel vehicle usually don't drive the vehicle much anymore due to the horrible gas and diesel prices nowadays. One great thing about this hybrid is the ability to travel in all-electric mode for most short trips. This conserves gas in the gasoline engine for longer trips. This feature helps increase fuel economy into the territory of 100 mpg. Not only is the Volt a plug-in hybrid, but so are the Ford Fusion Energi, Toyota Prius, and Honda Accord. There are more hybrids than these. However, these are some examples. As battery technology improves, car batteries will become smaller. They will become more fuel efficient and less expensive. Some people think that plug-in hybrids will become the most dominant hybrid of all. Because hybrid cars use more than one fuel source, they are extremely complex. It's possible that simpler automotive technology, such as the electric vehicle, could make hybrid cars obsolete.
