Hybrid cars and trucks are starting to become very popular these days. The inventor and founder of the hybrid car was Robert Anderson. Anderson was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He invented the vehicle in 1839. Hybrid vehicles get better fuel economy than most older cars and trucks. Most new vehicles produced today are some sort of hybrid or ecoboost vehicle. Almost all automakers today are trying to create new vehicles that save gas, which is green for the environment. Fuel-efficient cars are now taking the place of diesel cars and trucks. Diesel cars and trucks usually have pretty low fuel mileage. Most older large trucks have a diesel engine. Most owners of a diesel vehicle usually don't drive the vehicle much anymore due to the horrible gas and diesel prices nowadays. Bad gas prices are pushing more automakers to produce more hybrid cars to save money in the long run. . Not all diesels consume a lot of gas. Most new diesel trucks now get much better gas mileage than they did ten years ago. Volkswagen is now starting to make this new car equipped with a clean Diesel Turbo Diesel Injection engine. Unlike older diesel engines, this one is more modern to get better gas mileage and be cleaner for the environment. This new car they invented gets much better gas mileage than the older diesel engines found in older trucks and cars. Today's vehicles no longer resemble those of the past. More than half of automakers are now trying to build new cars and trucks that are as fuel efficient as possible. While hybrids save more gas than standard vehicles, they also use gas. Hybrids don't use as much gas as the old... half the paper... or an electrical outlet to charge the vehicle while parked. One great thing about this hybrid is the ability to travel in all-electric mode for most short trips. This conserves gas in the gasoline engine for longer trips. This feature helps increase fuel economy into the territory of 100 mpg. Not only is the Volt a plug-in hybrid, but so are the Ford Fusion Energi, Toyota Prius, and Honda Accord. There are more hybrids than these. However, these are some examples. As battery technology improves, car batteries will become smaller. They will become more fuel efficient and less expensive. Some people think that plug-in hybrids will become the most dominant hybrid of all. Because hybrid cars use more than one fuel source, they are extremely complex. It's possible that simpler automotive technology, such as the electric vehicle, could make hybrid cars obsolete.
