Topic > Analysis of Jensen's Teaching with the Brain in Education

I believe the most valuable lesson learned for me through my experience was that it is completely different when you have to enter school with the mindset of an educator rather than simply of a student; meaning there is much more to focus on as a future educator rather than simply as a student. For example, as a student, you usually go there and only worry about learning the lesson and completing homework for your benefit. With an educator's mindset, there are many more things going on in your head than just the lesson of the day. For example, you need to constantly ask yourself whether students are able to understand the lesson and whether your teaching methods are effective. You also wonder how your class learns best since not all students learn the same way. So, you need to have variety in your teaching so that each student can feel comfortable at certain points in your assignments and teaching skills. One of the least valuable things I learned from my field experience was taking traditional notes and lecturing. I say this because it is something I grew up knowing in my classes when I was a student. I believe that learning new ways of teaching is extremely beneficial and I am happy to see more and more teachers incorporating them into their lessons
