The 2005 hurricane hit the US Gulf Coast, was a Category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale and brought sustained winds of 100-140 miles per hour 'Now. This hurricane causes damage estimated at more than $100 billion, and hundreds of thousands of people in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama have been displaced from their homes. Cyclone Nargis in 2008 was also rated a Category 3 or 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale, and hit the northern Indian Ocean, killing about 84,500 people and leaving 53,800 missing. This cyclone made landfall in Myanmar and devastated the Ayeyarwady delta region along with its 37 municipalities for two days.”
