Talking about a media text that made a significantly negative impression on me, it would naturally come to mind the scenarios that occurred in the famous comedy series - “The Big Bang Theory ” - episode twenty of the sixth season (see “The Big Bang Theory - The Tenure Turbulence”, 2013). The episode tells the story of Sheldon, Leonard and Rajesh who, in order to gain competitive advantages to win the tenured position, spare no effort to chat with the members of the committee who make the decision. Leonard expects his girlfriend Penny to flirt with the male members of the committee to further her cause, while Penny has willingly decided to seduce the men on the committee for assisting her boyfriend. Sheldon asks Amy, his girlfriend, to show her breasts to seduce the committee members too. Rajesh criticizes that they should be ashamed of using women to advance their cause with sexuality, meanwhile insinuating that Amy has no sexuality to exploit. Sheldon humiliates Rajesh by making dirty jokes about Rajesh's mother like a prostitute. It is therefore not surprising that Rajesh seems enraged by Sheldon's words and actions, Leonard at this moment decides to abandon the competition to avoid losing their years-long friendship over the course of the mandate ("The Big Bang Theory - The Tenure Turbulence", 2013). However, if you turn your attention to Penny and Amy, two women both want to support their boyfriends: Penny voluntarily decided to show off her sexy body to seduce the men of the committee, she is not ashamed of her seduction behavior.... . middle of paper……”, in Gender Identity and Discourse Analysis, edited by Lia Litosseliti and Jane Sunderland, 2002, John Benjamins Publishing Company, UK.
