Because people are not educated enough about other countries, otherwise they would know, blood diamonds are something that not everyone has heard of, they know how dangerous they can be and how millions of people every year they are killed by them. When I was tasked with going to South Africa to meet someone who had been affected by conflict diamonds, I was not prepared for what I was about to embark on. I learned that these diamonds, which are supposed to represent love and wealth, are actually fuel for war, abuse of civil rights and violence.
