Introduction: Ever since I started walking I've had sports on my mind, walking around with a little baseball and a bat or even a soccer ball. But as I grew up, I discovered that there were even better sports than just everyday high school events. The first one I saw was snocross, high-speed snowmobile racing with only one thing in mind: winning. Shortly after though the introduction to the X-Games came and it became my childhood dream to perform there with everyone screaming my name. What I know: The X-Games is a winter and summer sporting event that takes place every year. They are made up of professional athletes and teams who push the limits of the human body and the machines they are driving. The Winter X-Games take place in Aspen Colorado and consist of three grassroots sporting events where athletes have different goals. The three categories are snowboarding, skiing and snowmobiling and all have a group for men and women, although no women have competed in any snowmobiling events. The Summer X-Games were held in Los Angeles California until now the 2014 Summer X-Games. The games have been moved to Austin, Texas. The X-Games are a national hit for television networks, especially ESPN, which is the primary producer of both the winter and summer games. Just like the Winter X-Games, the Summer Games have 5 basic events with different categories and objectives. The five main categories are moto x, mountain bike, rally car, skateboard and bmx. What I want to find out: The question I have and want to find out is: why did the X-Games arise? I want to know because it seems like a lot of thought went into creating the events. I also really want to know what the score is for each event and how the competitors... mid-card... are affected and separated from them. I thought a six to eight page document would be very difficult to proofread, but now I see that if you choose an interesting topic the document is worthless. I really liked this article compared to all the others we have written and it is by far the best topic I have chosen. Where I go from here: I plan to continue watching the X-Games in the future and learn from the athletes competing today. Then I hope maybe one day I can do it too, even if it's a bit of a stretch. Games have always been a part of my life that I don't want taken away from me. I'm very interested to see what the future holds for athletes and the new tricks that are getting bigger and better. I plan to continue researching to learn more about the little things that make up the different parts of the games and await the first summer games in Austin, Texas...
