In the 1950s and 1960s, diversity was generally frowned upon. The word “nigger” defined an African American. They were nothing but dirty, stupid niggers. Malcolm Little was an African American male who grew up in the North and went through many identities to find the one that suited him. He wanted to change the world, but only after discovering his true identity. Malcolm was not your typical black male. She had lighter skin on her mother's side and reddish-brown hair. His lighter shade of brown allowed for some openings in his life where if he had been a dark black male, those opportunities may not have presented themselves. Now, Malcolm's appearance has already thrown away the “nigger” stereotype: he was also a black Muslim. MalcolmGrowing up in the North of America, Malcolm experienced racism a little differently than blacks in the South. At school, Malcolm was the president of his class, was on the basketball team, and achieved a lot in school. So you might think he had an easy life. No, there was still discrimination against black people and who they were. Malcolm's success in school waned soon after seventh grade. Malcolm's English teacher labeled him based on the color of his skin and said he would be nothing more than a nigger. His dream of becoming a lawyer was too high for a man of his color. The Negro became Malcolm's time spent reevaluating his life and examining his decisions. Malcolm also found a mentor who led him to the Nation of Islam. The Nation of Islam taught how white men were the devils and that one day God will extinguish all whites because blacks were superior. Malcolm became passionate about these teachings and became internally filled with the teachings of Islamic cultures. He turned into a changed man and words became lethal rather than sex and drugs. The ghetto hustler became the street preacher. Big Red matured into Malcolm X. Malcolm used his knowledge and preached in the streets of Harlem to inform many of the God who will guide and protect them because blacks are superior. White people will be
