Classroom Observation After fifteen hours of classroom observation, I am looking forward to becoming a teacher even more than at the beginning of this semester. However, there is much more to learn about the teaching profession. It's very different from what you might expect. Everything I have learned so far has only made my future as a teacher more concrete, and more exciting. There are many reasons why I want to become a teacher and these will be discussed in this essay. It will also cover personal experiences, such as disappointing and emotional moments in the classroom. Finally, this essay will discuss the Danielson scopes and professional provisions and how they are used in the Port Louisa school system. “Do I still want to be a teacher?” my answer is clear: yes. There are a few reasons why I chose Mathematics as my major. Numbers and problem solving have always been extremely interesting. Subjects such as mathematics and science are attractive for their objectivity and accuracy. This is, of course, a somewhat unpopular idea: most students fear mathematics and fear scary-sounding subjects like physics. It would be a great opportunity and challenge to try to instill some enthusiasm and interest towards a topic that can so well describe the world we live in. Albert Einstein once said: "The most incomprehensible thing in the universe is that every day you find yourself in the center of a sheet of paper on the blackboard which reads: "After today's lesson, you will be able to ..." Constantly adapt the way he teaches, always paying attention to students' nonverbal cues. For example, a class will grasp the concept of the day very easily. The next lesson will have more problems, so the teacher will give more examples, starting with the basic ones and gradually bringing them up to where the first class is. This level of commitment is a great example of professional dispositions. Evidence of professionalism, good communication, critical thinking and genuine caring is very strong at my placement school. The faculty and staff clearly care deeply about students. In conclusion, my observation at Williams Intermediate School thus far has only confirmed my desire to become a teacher. I can only hope that all my experiences in schools are equally productive.
