How society is formed is a question that perplexes many: who decides how society is formed? Who has the most power in society? How do you gain more power in society? Social contract theorists such as Rousseau, Locke and Hobbs have tried to answer all these questions and many more. The ideas born from these theorists are the ones that influenced many influential people such as the Founding Fathers and therefore these ideas can be seen in the Constitution today. The United States Constitution was considered the supreme law. It is what society should respect and follow and is considered right as it is said to grant the same amount of power and rights to everyone, but is this really the case? Which social contract theory seemed to be most influential?
