The video The Hidden Reason for the Poverty the World Faces Now is approximately twenty-two minutes long and the guest speaker is Gary Haugene. He is a civil rights lawyer by profession. He talks about his experiences living in the poor community of Rwanda. He and his wife campaigned and contributed to the fight against poverty. It gives credit to the devoted compassion for the improvements achieved so far, for the eradication of poverty. He only wants us to put the power of compassion into carrying out the most efficient process to eradicate the curse of poverty from its roots. He states that poverty cannot be eradicated by simply providing financial aid and daily use products to the poor community, raising funds and sacrificing for them. We must fight the causes of poverty and the causes that prevent poor communities from improving. He believes that the poor have equal access to opportunities, but that there are obstacles in their way. The most frequent obstacle is social violence. Poor women are the most common object of violence and sexual abuse and the dilemma is that it is no longer seen as a crime. When a poor person finds such an obstacle in one of his routes, he changes the route instead of eliminating the element causing the obstacle. This is due to the fact that poor communities live in areas where neither the rule of law nor the law exists
