For the first time in recent history, many young, educated Americans are finding it difficult to acquire a desired career, let alone a full-time job. Young students across the United States are reluctantly postponing adulthood due to difficult economic circumstances, despite representing an enthusiastic potential workforce. Compared to previous generations, they are now more educated. And despite having this advantage, these young adults continue to feel hopeless. Additionally, the number of unemployed graduates has made job hunting much more difficult due to the oversaturation of graduates. Educated young people are increasingly competing for low-paying jobs with more experienced professionals, forcing many to accept positions that don't even require a college degree to make ends meet. Current youth unemployment not only currently impacts adverse economic conditions, but could also lead to an imminent decline in productivity and profits as young workers do not receive the training needed to compete in today's job market.
