Stocks are traded on stock exchanges, which are places where buyers and sellers meet and decide on a price. A bag can be physical or virtual. In physical mode the exchange transactions are carried out in a trading room. In a trading room there are hundreds, even thousands of computers and just as many traders wildly raising their arms, waving, shouting and exchanging signals. Another type of stock exchange is virtual. They are composed of a computer network in which operations are carried out electronically. The stock market is one of the most important sources for companies to raise funds. It allows a company to go public and raise funds to expand by selling shares owned by the company in a public market. The maneuverability that an exchange offers investors gives them the ability to sell securities more easily. This feature alone makes the stock market more attractive than other less liquid investments.
