The number of cases of rape and abuse according to statistics is at an unacceptable level. At least 1 in 4 women will experience sexual assault during their college years (Sexual Assault and College Campuses – Statistics). In many cases the accident is the result of alcohol poisoning. According to Sara Lawrence College at least 50% of sexual assault cases involve alcohol (Sexual Assault and College Campus - Statistics). Governments around the world must unite to put an end to senseless abuse. In a recent scandal on Penn State University's defensive line, coach Jerry Sandusky was accused of having sexual relations with ten young boys while working at Penn State. During the trial it became very clear that over many years Mr. Sandusky had sexually assaulted members of his foster home who were supposed to help troubled kids. It's so difficult for people to speak up and ask someone for help, because many don't believe anyone will understand their situation. However, many of the boys knew each other from the foster home and had gone through the same terrifying experience. It's unfortunate that it can take decades for a single person to be caught instead of days, in this case it took fifteen years. This only happened when the mother of one of the victims reported the incident and investigations began. Four adult men, including coach Joe Paterno, did not notify any type of higher authority when they discovered Sandusky was in the college locker room shower with a younger male in 2001. The facts of the article show numerous amounts of horrible authority similar to communication problems. In conclusion of the article Jerry Sandusky was accused of forty-five cases of sexual assault. The trial also ended with fire...half the paper...which can save your life." Cosmopolitan. Np, nd Web. March 26, 2014..Kingkade, Tyler.
