First, living in a single-parent home can influence the advancement of a child's educational attainment. placing the child in the hands of the non-favoring parent, which can impact encouragement to succeed. A single-parent home usually consists of a mother or father working a low-wage job while trying to maintain a positive outlook for the child they are trying to raise. Having both parents present in the same home can have a negative effect on the growing child if the child frequently witnesses parental conflicts due to the belief that one parent does not meet the parenting standards that the other believes he or she should meet. Single parents develop a sense of protectiveness towards the child because they want the child to do better than them when he reaches adulthood. So, being a single parent has its benefits, such as improving the child's educational level when working with the chosen parent, reducing emotional stress by communicating with the current parent, and learning to manage the financial burden he or she may face..
