I found the results of my self-assessments to be a very thorough and accurate description of myself. The results of the Learning Styles Test and the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II are very valuable in examining my personality traits and learning style and making improvements as needed. The learning styles test identified me as a tactile-kinesthetic learner, meaning I learn best by doing, rather than listening or seeing. This means that I have to adapt my study to methods related to this style. Some of the suggestions provided by Abiator's active classroom website seemed useful and relevant, such as using flashcards while walking around the room, while others seemed absurd, such as covering my work space with colored construction paper. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II identified my temperament as craftsman, and the classic temperament report identified me as ISTP, or Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving. The description of my temperament was perfectly in line with my view of myself, especially the more in-depth classical temperament. My strengths include an excellent ability to apply logic and reason to solve problems or discover how things work, and I am very practical and realistic, however I will not function well in regimented or structured environments, as I will become bored or suffocated. This temperament profile also correlates with my learning style, as the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II results also mention that I learn best in the field and state that ISTPs are masters of their physical environment. For personal and professional growth, given my personality traits, I need to embrace my strengths and weaknesses. I must use my strengths to my advantage, to be more effective academically and professionally, but I must also identify and try to overcome my weaknesses, especially professionally.
