There are many different views on whether or not global warming is actually real and the possible catastrophic damage it causes. It's a big deal in politics now, everyone is debating whether or not it's actually real or whether it's just a weather pattern. People need to wake up and realize it's real, just look at the shorter winters and warmer weather. The glaciers are melting, we're having crazy weather, so what else could it be? However we have more to worry about as a government. There are all kinds of facts about whether or not global warming is real, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the planet is warming. “2012 was ranked the eighth warmest year on record, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The ranking was based on global surface temperatures from January to November. All 10 of the warmest years on record have occurred since 1998. December 2012 was the 34th consecutive month with temperatures above the 1900 average.” (Back In Time.) After reading something like that, how can you not say that global warming is real, obviously the facts about it are there. People say the warming isn't due to past weather patterns, but the last 15 years have had the top 10 warmest years on record and yes, maybe it's just a weather pattern, but in this pattern temperatures are getting warmer. temperatures on this planet have always fluctuated naturally on this planet. Looking back over the last 100 years, the earth warmed from about 1900 to 1940. Global cooling subsequently occurred until the late 1970s.” (Scherer 20) People who say this don't understand that there are weather patterns, but the pattern that's happening now... middle of the paper... global warming is real. People who say this isn't a real need to realize, yes, there are weather patterns, but when the patterns reach the warm parts of the pattern, they will be hotter than they have ever been before. Yes, there will be periods of cold weather, but it will never be as cold or as long as before. So people need to realize, whether they like it or not, global warming is real.
