Amelia Earhart's words, "Courage is the price life demands for peace with oneself" can be linked to the woman I chose. I chose to write about a woman who has been an inspiration in my life. It inspired me to continue my education and grow in my field of work. As per the Professor's instructions, I will keep the identity of my chosen woman confidential, although she made it clear in our interview that she wouldn't mind inspiring other women by announcing her name. I will begin by introducing her as a young Puerto Rican woman born in Harlem Hospital in New York and raised in the Bronx, on a hot day on June 30 in the year 1976. She was the first of three brilliant young women. As a child she was raised very religiously, always being reminded that all things are possible in God. She was born and raised in church and as a child loved to sing to the Almighty. At home with her parents and two younger sisters, she was always energetic and ready to take charge. She tells me that as a little girl she always loved teaching her younger sisters everything she knew. His parents never got an education, his father only managed to attend high school and his mother never managed to get out of elementary school. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, her parents were forced by her parents to leave school and work to maintain their homes. Her father worked in a metal warehouse and had no time to sit and help her with her schoolwork. His mother never learned to write and read because she never finished elementary school. So he found himself staying after school every day and receiving all kinds of tutoring so he could pass the exam, and he did. While she was growing up she had to be her sister's guardian and help her... middle of paper... or her career, she stood courageously and achieved all her dreams. Among the many things that inspired me, I must say that it gave me the courage to continue what I had started many years ago and to make my life and that of my son better. It inspired me to reach for the stars and realize that our horizons are as wide as we want them to be. He taught me many lessons that I will carry with me and teach my son. I told her that I am not a person who wishes or desires to be like anyone else, but if I wanted to be like her it would be because of her courage and achievements. She was the first in her family to graduate from college and make a career out of it, and I would love to follow in her footsteps and achieve my own goals and dreams. I thanked her for giving me the opportunity to interview her and witness her remarkable life.
