There is not much education on real life situations, such as taxes and funding. While having a religious education is important, if a child is not taught about things like paying bills, taxes, and the responsibilities of having a job, he or she will be forced to learn these things on his or her own as they occur in his or her life. This can be compared to a teacher giving a test on information he knows he has never taught to his students. It is for this reason that the purpose of public schools is to educate students exclusively in the areas of which they need to be aware to lead a successful path.
