Now, her actions may not be the result of wise decisions, but you can't give power to a teenager and expect her to make the right decisions. He acted on what he thought was right and did what he had to do to keep himself alive. As selfish as it may seem, it was smart of him and he responded like a human being. She also can't be blamed because other people brought this to her. Powerful adults like Proctor and the judges gave her things that made her react the way she did.
