Dan Brown: A Legend“History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is annihilated and the victor writes history books that glorify their cause and denigrate their vanquished enemy. As Napoleon once said, “What is history but an agreed-upon fable?” -Dan Brown. Dan Brown is an American author who has many science fiction awards and acclaimed, story-based novels, he is also my favorite author. Many of his novels include The Da Vinci Code, Deception Point, Angels & Demons, Digital Fortress, Inferno, and The Lost Symbol. Brown's novels are treasure hunts set over a 24-hour period and feature recurring themes such as cryptography, keys, symbols, codes, and conspiracy theories. In 2012, it was recorded that his books had sold over 200,000,000 copies. (Dan Brown) The Da Vinci Code alone sold over 20,000,000 copies in the first month it was released. Dan has had extremely interesting life stages; including his childhood which inspired many of his books. (Pelt) Many of Dan's ideas were radical and he was skilled at blending unique ideas with both modern and ancient conspiracies; and he brought personal experiences together in his books to express himself. (Ford) Dan Brown had an absolutely unique childhood. Dan was the eldest of three brothers. (Collman) He was born in Exeter, New Hampshire, on June 22, 1964.
