An organization's culture and work environment have been shown to impact employee attitudes and overall job satisfaction (Bellou, 2010). By maintaining a regular measurement of job satisfaction, an organization can get a sense of whether its efforts to unify two cultures are having the intended effect. Organizational culture is a key factor in creating a positive perception of work-life balance (Gilley, Waddell, Hall, Jackson, & Gilley, 2015). Furthermore, there are generational differences in what constitutes a good work-life balance (Gilley et al., 2015). Therefore, monitoring employees' perceptions of work-life balance would give an organization a good idea whether managers are showing awareness of such generational differences and making adjustments based on values and attitudes (Gilley et al., 2015) . Job satisfaction and work-life balance scores would give an organization a strong indication of whether its strategies for unifying corporate cultures are working.
