In both of these accounts Socrates discusses in depth what he believes to be the good life. In the Apology, it seemed to me that Socrates was trying to convince the Athenians that it is okay to question authority and examine life and they would live a better and more fulfilled life as a result. He wanted to contribute to the human progress of the Athenians and improve their lives and he wanted them to also improve their living conditions by following in his footsteps. After reading The Apology, I believe Socrates would affirm human progress's response to life
