In this article I will discuss whether or not Sandro Botticelli was a true Renaissance artist or not. I will explore his past to learn about his early life to becoming the great famous artist he is today. I will travel through his artwork and try to understand its essence and how all the wonders he created were born. Plus, walk back in time and discover what it was like to live in the Renaissance period, to know what struggles and difficulties Sandro Botticelli went through just to become an artist. The life or bibliography of Sandro Botticelli. Sandro Botticelli, born Alessandro Filipepi was born in Florence, Italy, in 1445, and lived there until his death. Sandro began his career during the Italian Renaissance and has always been creative since he was a child. Being the youngest of 5 children, his father allowed him to become an apprentice to one of the local goldsmiths. During the period of collaboration with this goldsmith, he gave Sandro the nickname Botticelli which means "Little barrel". After a while he managed to convince his father to let him study painting. He did this by becoming an apprentice of the well-known painter Fra Filippo Lippi. Fra Filippo Lippi was a well-known painter and was known for the way he used color on church altarpieces and helped Sandro discover his equally famous artistic style. Botticelli was quickly recognized and soon became a very gifted artist in his own right. At the age of 15 he opened his own workshop and dedicated himself to his work. Sandro Botticelli became what he was known for through his apprenticeship, so in his workshop he wanted to be able to pass that experience on to someone else.
