Since social media has occupied a significant part of our lives, it is inevitable that we will continue to use it. For this same reason, the most common concern a teacher has for their students is what impact social media will have on their lives. However, this does not exactly mean that this impact will be harmful. On the contrary, it can be very useful. The bottom line is that students need to start seeing Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media as an opportunity to share their writing with purpose. The point is to get them to see their “Timelines” as an actual piece of writing, which it is.
