The reason why the book was written and the presentation of the important parts of the book, such as the characters and setting, is found at the beginning of both Saint Monkey and "Trilobites". The central structure of Saint Monkey and "Trilobites" are both written using the same type of structure. Every story starts with a series of events that are happening at the time when suddenly the author introduces a twist in the stories which in these stories happens to be a flashback. The flashback in Saint Monkey and “Trilobites” is what keeps readers interested in the stories. Although the stylistic structure of the chosen writer is similar in Saint Monkey and “Trilobites”, the writer's choice of voice and words is different. The structure an author chooses is important to an author because of the way the story unfolded. After reading the biographies of Breece D'J Pancake and Jacinda Townsend, I realized that growing up in different parts of the region is also different. Both the authors of Saint Monkey and “Trilobites” grew up in different states and had different lifestyles, which has an effect on the writer's writing
