2. Celebrity Case: Erin Andrewsa. Erin Matthews was stalked by Michael David Barrett in 2008. Barrett followed Andrews to hotels in Nashville, Tennessee and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he proceeded to record a naked Matthews through hotel room peepholes, which he zoomed in on. A few months later Barrett posted one of the videos and it went viral, bringing it to the attention of Matthews, who then filed a case with authorities. Barrett was arrested in October 2009 by the FBI for interstate stalking. He subsequently appealed the charges brought against him and was sentenced to thirty months in prison, probation upon release, and was ordered to pay fines and restitution. (“Stalker Gets 2 Years,” 2010) It was released in July of 2012.b. The stalker, Michael David Barrett, flew to Nashville, Tennessee and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to stalk Erin Andrews. He rented rooms next to Ms. Andrew's and proceeded to enlarge the peepholes of the hotel rooms where Erin was staying, the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and the Radisson Airport Hotel in Milwaukee, to film Ms. Matthews in the nude.c . Miss Mathews is still haunted by the incident. He continues his fight to remove the video from the Internet that was released and went viral. She's asked websites to remove the viral video of her from their pages, but they all refuse, which is why she has to buy the copyright to the video of her own body so she can arm herself when she asks sites to delete it. .
