Topic > My Experience at My Internship - 893

Longboards Wraps and Bowls is an exceptionally unique company specializing in savory wraps and bowls featuring the best flavors of the Pacific coasts of Hawaii, California, Japan, China and Mexico. I chose this company for my internship because it is a family-run business with a relaxed yet fast-paced environment. During the internship I encountered and carried out various jobs. These jobs differed in the skills required and conveyed a different amount of information based on my ability to work. For a brief description of the job tasks I encountered during my internship: I ensured that the doses of the ingredients conformed to the allowed specifications, I prepared different types of foods from the menu by deliberately following the recipes, I informed the management when the ingredients were in short supply, and I ended my work day by cleaning and sanitizing my work environment. While working in the food industry I learned several things, including: how to deal with cleverly obnoxious people; staying loyal to not only customers but also colleagues, how to multitask in a fast-paced environment, teamwork, customer service, management skills, how to be efficient and amplify tolerance/patience. Starting with unpleasant people; you must learn to determine problematic circumstances calmly and appropriately. You must therefore be empathetic and apologetic not only towards your unpleasant customers but also towards colleagues; which is linked to learning and growing tolerance and patience. Moving on to management skills or noted as leadership, I was responsible for bringing our company's vision, motivation and challenge to the table. When you work with any company or company you also have to think about your working relationships.......middle of paper......calculate labor cost percentage and food cost percentage which can encourage my general manager to take on some responsibilities outside of me. In fact, after disclosing that information, I was asked for help with planning. Finally, pursuing training and development like education or anything for profit for the company can help me secure my job after my internship. My goals prior to my temporary position including overall essentials about the company, learning new skills, increasing productive input, and gaining an understanding in networking. I achieved my goals during the internship and then some. In conclusion, I gained more knowledge about the industry and announced my stay in the hospitality industry. With fast-paced environments, ability to multitask and a growing enthusiasm for the industry, it's a great fit for me.
