Amazon and its CEOAbstractJeffrey Bezos is the CEO of Amazon.com. The CEO of all companies is the top manager chosen by the board of directors to manage the company. (Business Essentials, 2005, p. 525) I constantly buy movies and television shows from Amazon.com and download them to my computer. For example, my favorite TV show is Prison Break and sometimes I miss an episode. If that happens, I can just go to Amazon.com and buy any episode I want as long as it's already aired. This is very convenient since the entire season of any television series is not sold in stores until every episode of the entire season is broadcast on television. Most television series are only $1.99 per episode, which is a great deal. After they are completely downloaded to my computer, I can burn the episodes to a DVD and watch them anywhere. After high school, Bezos attended Princeton University with the goal of earning a degree in physics. He later decided he was more interested in computers and majored in computer science and electrical engineering. (Achievement, 2005, pg 1) After two years at Fitel the company was unsuccessful, so Bezos went to work for Bankers Trust where he developed software applications for pension fund clients. He eventually became vice president and decided to move to D.
