The truth in Oedipus RexThe work "Oedipus Rex" is nothing short of full and lively. Everything a reader could ask for is included in this play. There is excitement, suspense, happiness, pain and so much more. Truth is the main theme of the work. Oedipus cannot accept the truth as it comes to him or even where it comes from. He is blinded in his own life, trying to ignore the truth of his life. Oedipus will discover that the truth is solid as a rock. The story is mainly about a young man named Oedipus who is trying to discover more knowledge than he can handle. The story begins by telling us that Oedipus has seen his moira, his destiny, and discovers that in the future he will end up killing his father and marrying his mother. Thinking that his mother and father were Polybus and Merope, the only parents he knew, he ran away from home and went far away so he could change his destiny and not end up harming his family. Oedipus will then discover that he cannot change destiny because he has no control over it, only the Gods can control what happens. Oedipus is a very healthy person with a strong and strong-willed mind who will never give up until he gets what he wants. Unfortunately, in this story these will not be good characteristics to have. Oedipus continues his journey without knowing what he will do next. Oedipus meets some people at a crossroads during this journey and fights with them until he dies. Next, he travels to a city called Thebes where he outsmarted a beast that was cursing the city. He received praise and joy. Earning the trust of all who lived there, he quickly became king of Thebes. People loved him because he was a great leader. He was such a great king because he loved his people very much and would do anything in his power to make them happy. As a result, Oedipus finds that the city is in trouble unless their late king's killer is found and punished. Oedipus does not know that he is the murderer of their late king or that the king was actually his father. Oedipus will fight to find an answer even though he has been warned not to dig too deep, because he will regret it.
