Throughout history there have been individuals, or groups of individuals, who have influenced the world more than most of us can even imagine. When you apply this statement to music, the first band that almost always comes to mind is The Beatles. The Beatles left a huge mark not only on the world of music, but also on the lives of many people. They were so popular that John Lennon was even quoted as saying they were “more popular than Jesus now”. (Interview by Maureen Cleave). Ringo also had to deal with a traumatic event that resulted in the loss of a parent, although his parent did not die. Ringo's father left the family at the age of three.
