I didn't realize the religious dietary law was so strict. The questions running through my mind were: How much of a sinner am I? Does this practice apply to the rest of the world with inadequate food? I remembered growing up around the Nile River, where fishing was a major source of food on the table. I grew up eating different types of fish, even those without scales. There were several seasons in Ethiopia or the southern tip on the border with Ethiopia, where the alternative to survive the hunger was to eat fish of all kinds almost every day. Also, I started eating pork when I moved to the United States. I would strongly recommend changing the dietary law, even if it would mean changing the instructions given by God. If God had known about the food shortage that would affect some countries, he would have ensured that people had other substitutes to survive. However, it seems that the Diet Law should apply to
