The Neanderthal tool culture was prone to hunting according to Takacs & Cline 2015. They had sharp tools fashioned for cutting flesh and cracking bones. Therefore, their overall culture and cultural beliefs revolved around their diet. Food culture in Cro-Magnons Cro-Magnons were the closest human species after Neanderthals. They were mentally more pronounced and intelligent than their predecessors (Montgomery & Bennett, 1979). This is mainly due to the adaptation of their food culture. To adapt to harsher conditions than their predecessors, they had to invent more sophisticated tools to improve hunting and gathering. The diet was closely linked to the culture of the tools used by the Cro-Magnons. To ensure they were adopted in a more competitive food environment, the involution of tools was inevitable. The tools they had were sharp and lightweight to ensure they could kill an animal faster and at a longer range (Sistiaga et al 2014). The diet also influenced their clothing culture. The Cro-Magnons used animal skins obtained from their capture to make clothing, bedding, shelters, and robes (Fagan, 1996). They used sharp needles from the bones of animals they killed to sew skin to make clothing and bedding among many others
