The Characters of Othello Shakespeare's Othello is a novel that describes the intense relationship between Othello, Cassio and Iago. One charter may see the other as a dear friend and companion, but the latter may see the former as an inferior person of whom he is envious because of something he possesses. Othello is a tragedy of trust, if you learn to trust then you live in happiness, but the strength of mistrust is enough to make a man attempt evil and corrupt actions. Over the course of the book the relationships between some characters become strong, but then, at the last possible moment, most of these relationships are reversed and some become stronger. It's a hard thing to explain, but I'll explain it to you. Each character had their own relationship with each other, Othello had a strong friendship with Iago, as if he were his brother. Othello sees Cassio as a good young soldier, but as the story progresses he begins to despise Cassio because he was given false information about Cassio which greatly upset the war hero. Iago hates Othello, because he gave a promotion to what he thought was an underqualified soldier, so he is out for revenge. Iago is also jealous of Cassio for the reason just mentioned, he thinks he deserves the promotion and is very envious that Cassio beat him to the punch. Why has the relationship of these people changed? What role does trust play in the entire work? When do we know when to trust and when not to trust? These are all questions that go through your head because in some cases it is wrong to trust, but in others trust is what keeps relationships and friendships alive, don't let it confuse you it's just a matter of knowing when to trust and when not to trust. Othello and Iago one of the falsest friendships ever put to paper. Othello was definitely loyal to Iago, he trusted Iago on the battlefield and in his social media, now this is the trust of a true friend. Othello saw Iago as his most trusted soldier, advisor, and friend. Othello was the type of person who always thought that people would look down on him because of the color of his skin. He fell in love with a woman whose family hates him because of the color of your skin.
