I interviewed a fifty-five year old woman named Theresa Geis. She is married to Robert Geis and they have four daughters, including me. They reside in Denver, Colorado with one daughter still at home. Theresa holds a master's degree in teaching with an emphasis in special education. She grew up in Greeley, CO, but loves Denver and where it is currently located. Theresa and Robert have had the same house in Denver for twenty-one years now and recently purchased a cabin in Estes Park, on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. A typical day for my mother is when she wakes up at five forty-five. and go for an hour-long walk outside. After the walk he wakes up his youngest daughter Rebecca. He'll make her breakfast and then have breakfast with Becca. After breakfast he will proceed to prepare for the day, do some chores before the preschoolers arrive at eight. Once it hits eight he will begin teaching kindergarten until noon in his basement, which has been converted into a classroom. From eleven to noon Theresa goes to the local bar called the Prairie Peddler and gets an iced white chocolate Americano with some skim milk. After the cappuccino he will have lunch and then teach from midday to three. At three Becca has a game or practice that Theresa will go to or leave depending on whether it's a game or practice. After the game or practice, Theresa will prepare dinner for her husband Robert and Becca. They will eat together, clean up and chat about their days before going to sleep. The event that stuck with Theresa the most was the birth of her youngest daughter, Becca. This was because she was ready to return to the workforce as a teacher as her other three daughters were old enough to take care of themselves and each other. Her change in routine due to Becca's birth required her to be a full-time mother again and she was preparing to become a working resource for the family. When asked if Theresa enjoyed or was satisfied with her current routine, she was asked in her response which she more defiantly was. She has really enjoyed teaching and having a flexible schedule that allows her to spend quality time with her husband and daughter.
