“She's a Monster” or “Tiger Mother,” nicknames given to Yale Law School professor and book writer Amy Chua. Chua was given these nicknames in response to the strict discipleship he applies to his children. His book, The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, attracted public attention due to the outrageous stories written within it. These stories in his book caused a lot of confusion due to his unorthodox ways in raising his children. In the book, Chua listed some things that his daughters, Sophia and Louisa, were not allowed to do. Her daughters were not allowed to “attend sleepovers, have a playdate, participate in a school play, watch TV, or play video games.” These things that Chua never allowed her daughters to do were her answer to the mystery of how "[Asian] parents raise such... successful children."
